Overview
Form 7004 is used by businesses to request an automatic extension of up to 6 months to file certain business income tax, information, and other returns. This extension applies only to the filing deadline; any taxes owed must still be paid by the original due date.
How to file Form 7004
You can use the following endpoints to complete the 7004 filing.
- Create - Used to create a new Form 7004 extension request.
- Update - Used to update an existing Form 7004 request with corrected information.
- Transmit - Used to submit the Form 7004 request to the IRS.
PDF retrieval
- GetPdf - Used to retrieve the PDF copy of the Form 7004 generated in TaxBandits via webhooks (if configured). Used to download the transmitted form for your records.
- RequestPdfURLs - Used to generate a secure URL to access the PDF version of the transmitted form.
Status retrieval
You have two different options.
- Status - You can use this endpoint to get the status of your extension request.
- Webhooks - Configure webhooks for the event type 'E-file Status Change' to receive real-time updates.
Other actions
- List - To list all Form 7004 created and transmitted on the account for a particular Payer.
- Get - Used to retrieve the details of a Form 7004 created in TaxBandits.
- Delete - Used to delete an existing Form 7004. Applicable only if the form has not yet been transmitted.
