Postal Mailing of 1099 Form Copies

The IRS requires you to send copies of 1099 forms to your recipients by the annual deadline. For most 1099s, the deadline is January 31.

If you prefer to send hard copies to your recipients, you can opt for Postal Mailing through TaxBandits. We’ll print and mail the recipient copies on your behalf and validate each mailing address with USPS to ensure delivery.

How it works?

1. Enable Postal Mailing

While creating a 1099 return, set the IsPostal node as TRUE in the submission manifest. This will enable Postal Mailing for all the forms in the submission.

If you’d like to enable Postal Mailing for specific recipients, you can set the IsPostal node as TRUE in the corresponding records under ‘ReturnData’.

2. Automatic Order Creation

Once the return is transmitted, TaxBandits automatically creates an order for postal mailing. We’ll print and mail the form copies to the corresponding recipients.

3. Track Mailing Status

You’ll receive status updates via webhooks (if configured) once the recipient copies are mailed. If not configured, you can manually check it using Status endpoint.

Note:

If you choose to handle recipient copies yourself, you can download the completed forms for free and distribute them manually.
