Postal Mailing of 1099/W-2 Form Copies

As per the IRS, you must distribute copies of your 1099/W-2 to the corresponding recipients within the deadline. For W-2 and most 1099s, the recipient copy distribution deadline is January 31.

If you want to distribute the hard copies of 1099/W-2 to your recipients, you can opt for Postal Mail and let TaxBandits print and mail the copies on your behalf. We perform address validation to make sure the recipient's address is valid.

How it works?

  1. While creating a 1099/W-2 return, set the IsPostal as ‘True’ in the submission manifest. You can opt for Postal Mailing either for all the records (forms) in the submission or for each record (form).
  2. Once the return is transmitted, an order will be created for Postal Mailing.
  3. You will receive a status update via Webhooks once the copies are sent to the recipients. Click here to learn how to set up Webhooks to receive postal mailing status.

Note: If you choose to send the copies on your own, you can download the completed forms for Free.
