Overview

A State Reconciliation Form is used to reconcile the tax information reported on federal tax forms with the information submitted to a state tax agency. It provides the state with a summary of the applicable income and tax withholding information reported for recipients or employees.

State reconciliation is generally required when a state requires businesses to submit a separate reconciliation report along with the corresponding 1099 or W-2 forms. The reconciliation information helps the state verify that the amounts reported on individual recipient or employee forms match the totals reported to the state.

TaxBandits API supports State Reconciliation Forms for a few states and tax forms. For supported forms, you can provide the applicable state reconciliation details in the StateReconData object when using the Create or Update endpoints for 1099-NEC, 1099-MISC, or W-2, as applicable.
